LOOTERS HIT SHOETIQUE ICON MARYONS

In what has been reported as the biggest looting crime so far in the 2011 Queensland floods, Queensland boutique shoe icon Maryons has been robbed of stock worth $50,000.

The gorgeous and usually happy Claire Campbell is none too impressed in this picture taken by the Courier Mail, saying, "I can't believe they would kick us while we are down."

They now have to deal with a flood clean up in Maryon's Rosalie store and the loss of stock.

"Now we've had to put on security guards to work 12 hours a night until we know they're safe," she said.

Queensland police deployed a 200-strong anti-looting task force from Tuesday this week, too late for Campbell but let's hope it stops this horrendous attack on fellow Brisbane residents' homes.

Devoted Maryons customers can still shop online or visit their Emporium, Main Beach or Brisbane City shoetiques.
